LOYD VAN HORN
Raised in a radio family, Loyd Van Horn has been an avid AM and FM DXer for nearly 30 years. He began DXing shortwave at the age of 7, but it wasn’t until he heard 1120 KMOX – St. Louis, MO on his bedside clock radio at the age of 13 that the DX bug bit him hard.

For nearly 10 years, he was a columnist with Monitoring Times magazine, writing the weekly GlobalNet column which dealt with online streaming of radio/TV.
He is an extra-class amateur radio operator (W4LVH), trained severe storm spotter, and loves combining his love of radio with his love of being camping and riding in his in Jeep LJ Wrangler. In his spare time, he is a musician with three albums released to date. The most recent, Escape, is available on his Web site: www.loydvanhornmusic.com
