We are changing gears here at DX Central as it relates to our MW Frequency Challenges. After cycling through every single MW frequency at least twice over the past 4 seasons, we will spend the rest of Season 4 not focusing on specific frequency ranges, but rather a theme-based challenge approach.

For weeks 27 & 28 of Season 4 we are introducing the “K” Challenge. For this challenge, DXers are to log stations with their City of License located West of the Mississippi River. Transmitter location does not count, only City of License. This will be for U.S. stations only. No Mexico, Canada or other international stations are applicable.

The challenge begins at 0100 UTC on Saturday, March 22, 2025 and runs through 0100 UTC on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Only receptions made during this timeframe will count towards the challenge.

The entire mediumwave band is available to DXers to complete this challenge from 530 to 1710 kHz. Any station heard (including TIS, pirate, etc.) are eligible to be logged provided the station logged is broadcasting on the frequency of reception, is a U.S. station only and the city of license is located West of the Mississippi River.  No spurs, no images, no harmonics, etc. 

Portable operations are encouraged, within 25 miles of your home location.

DXers must use their own equipment for this challenge.  Online SDRs are only allowed if they belong to or are managed/maintained by the submitting DXer.
