KIWISDRS MANAGED BY DX CENTRAL
SHORTWAVE CENTRAL KIWISDR
Located in Mandeville, LA with one of the top 100 SNR scores in the world at night! The antenna used is a 25'x72' KAZ at 330°/150° (usually pointed South) and fed by a handwound 16:1 transformer. Termination is through a manually controlled variable resistor (have tried to set it to maximize as many Latin American "beacon" frequencies as possible.
DX CENTRAL KIWISDR
Located in Mandeville, LA the DX Central Kiwi gives a nice alternative look at the bands compared to our sister Kiwi at Shortwave Central. We have a rotation of SuperLoop and KAZ antennas that are all vactrol-controlled and fed by handwound 16:1 passive transformers Two antennas will always be available: a 15'x56' SuperLoop at 83°/263° a 22'x70' KAZ at 305°/125° Three antennas will be used in a rotation, based on propagation, target DX, etc.: a 22'x72' SuperLoop @ 15°/195° a 15'x60' KAZ @ 35°/215° a 20'x60' KAZ @ 350°/170° Look on the antenna switch/RF tab for the updated information on which antenna/orientations are currently in use. This SDR will be offline during local lightning storms.
